ianua

Latin, door

so January, door onto the year ?

Letter addressed to me this morning.
pay slips.
Across the bottom in a generous slant
So pleased you are back!
makes me happier.

I’ve an exam tomorrow.
dumbly wrote out lists of vocabulary today,
more than the words we are required to know.
shifting my chair to be able to see the sun as it moved to my right.
Cold, and vinegar skin.
Put on my coat perhaps an hour before I leave the house.
am I ill?
Go grateful to work,
work with D.
we both talk quietly.
he wears trainers. not very Daunt.
We enjoy awkwardly each other’s company vaguely,
I think. and the customers, few, are harmlessly nice.
We could go for a drink
sometime,
he adds. Something like that, at the end of his sentence after I’ve figured out the padlock and chain, locking up.
I mumble back,
turn for the tube.
